RIDER COURSE

Want to learn how to ride a motorcycle safely in a controlled environment with professionally trained instructors who are enthusiastic about riding and teaching others to ride safely, and who will provide the motorcycles to train you?

Would you also like after successful completion of a Motorcycle Safety Course be able to go into the Tennessee D.M.V. and hand them a certificate that exempts you from taking the written and riding requirements to get your Tennessee motorcycle license?

On top of all that how would you like to save 10% on your motorcycle liability insurance? If all this sounds like something you would like to be a part of we welcome you to sign up for a Basic Rider Motorcycle Safety Course.

CLASS DAYS & TIMES

This class takes three days:

  • Friday from 6:00 PM to around 10:00 PM

  • Saturday 8:00 AM to around 6:00 PM

  • Sunday 8:00 AM to around 6:00 PM

 

Please note:  These hours are TENTATIVE and may vary, due to class size, rate of progression, and weather.

WHAT TO BRING

     1.DOT approved helmet*

     2.Approved eye Protection

     3.Long Sleeve shirt or jacket

     4.Full-Fingered gloves

     5.Long jeans (Denim)

     6.Shoes/boots that cover the ankle

     7.Weather Specific Gear

*Helmets are provided if you need one

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 15-hours of instruction (5 hours classroom/10 hours riding)

  • Range exercises include low-speed maneuvers and basic skills such as shifting, accelerating, braking, cornering, U-turn, lane change

  • You’ll receive individual RiderCoach feedback while learning to ride

  • Motorcycles and Student Handbook are provided. Helmets are provided if needed. 

  • Water is provided during Range Portion of class. However you are more than welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks for breaks. We take several 5-10 minute breaks through the entire class. Both Saturday and Sunday will have a 1 hour lunch break.

  • After Successful completion of the Written and Riding Evaluation, you will receive a Certificate of Completion that waves the Motorcycle Written and Riding Test at the Tennessee DMV. You will also receive a Card that entitles you a 10% discount on your Tennessee Motorcycle Liability Insurance. Please note that signing up for a class DOES NOT entitle you to successfully completion.

  • Types and/or models of motorcycles available vary by season. Your RiderCoach will assign a training bike that is best for you based on your height, weight and/or preferred riding style. In general Motorcycles are 300cc and under; ranging from Dual Sport, Cruiser, Standard, and Sport Bike style. At times we may be able to provide a Scooter. Please call for more information.

 Student Discount

Any Student 15 years of age and older who currently holds a “C” average or better.*

* Military, and Student Discounts cannot be used together. You must provide valid proof with registration form to get discount.

EXPERIENCED

RIDER COURSE

Already know how to ride but would like to enhance your skills and test your abilities, plus get 10% off your TN motorcycle liability insurance?  We would like to welcome you to take the Experienced Rider Motorcycle Safety Course. Bring your bike, gear, and the mind set to have fun and learn something new and exciting. 

Successfully completion of the Experienced Rider Course earns you get a Certificate that waives the Written and Riding Portion of the Tennessee Motorcycle Licensing Test at the TN D.M.V.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 10-hours of instruction (Informal classroom/ riding)

  • Similar to the BRC except speeds are higher and you will be on your own motorcycle. An excellent refresher course for practicing and renewing riding skills.

  • You’ll receive individual RiderCoach feedback pertaining to your particular riding style and motorcycle type.

CLASSROOM DIRECTIONS: When you turn on to school property, go over 2 speed bumps and turn into the parking lot directly to your right. Come in the double brown doors and we are in the last class room on the left.
